We LOVE Thanksgiving! Infosurv Research Celebrates the Season

Spread the love

The first ThanksgivingThank you, Abraham Lincoln!

Without you, we wouldn’t celebrate Thanksgiving as a national holiday.

Yes, George Washington was the first to proclaim a national day of thanksgiving in 1789. But it was Abraham Lincoln who created Thanksgiving as a national holiday (with a set date on the last Thursday of November) in 1863;

“I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.”

Moreover, while there are many unique and perhaps even weird traditions surrounding the holiday (see Huffington Post), what’s special is that all Americans come together on that one day to express our Thanks.

So, in preparation for Thanksgiving, we asked Infosurv Researchers to share with us those things for which they are most thankful. We were prepared for and expecting the four F’s (food, football, family, and friends). However, we were surprised at the philosophical tone that this request brought out in our colleagues. As Lenni Moore says below, “gratitude is essential to the human soul.” And here is how we are grateful.

First and foremost, as a group, everyone at Infosurv Research is thankful for our wonderful clients and the trust that you place in us to provide you with critical information to help guide your business success.  That is a huge responsibility that we keep top of mind every day, and we sincerely appreciate your confidence, your collaboration, and your creativity.  We obviously wouldn’t be here without you, so a big Thank You!

And, on a more personal note, here are the things we’re thankful for:

“I am most thankful for the love, peace, and happiness of my family and for a loving God that makes all things possible.” – Carl Fusco

“I am thankful for my family, my friends, my health, my career, great food and great laughter shared around the family dinner table.” – Carper Davis

“I’m thankful for the things I usually take for granted- health, home, family and friends, and food….mostly food!” – Danica Kwon

I’m grateful that we still have a holiday focused specifically on gratitude and I hope we never get to the point where we just gloss over it on our way to the unbridled materialism that seems to dominate Christmas. I think gratitude is essential to the human soul, and as such, I’m grateful for an ever expanding sense of family that includes not just my awesome husband and daughter, but also the people in my church, my coworkers, clients, friends and kindred spirits that have crossed my path. I’m blessed to have a lot of neat, interesting, unique people in my life.” – Lenni Moore

I am most grateful for my family, and the opportunity to gather together and celebrate the blessings we have received. Growing up, Thanksgiving was a very meaningful time to gather and celebrate with family and friends. My wife and I are now able to continue our family traditions as our immediate family continues to grow.” – JD Woods

I’m thankful for family and friends of course, but I’m most thankful for the Tide being ranked #1.  Roll Tide.” – Christian Wright

I give thanks for growing up in the best country in the world, being able to worship as I please, for my wife of 42 years, my family, my friends, a profession that continues to interest me and allow me to make a meaningful contribution and my excellent health. Most of all, I am thankful for God’s unending grace.” – Pete Booth

So, before you fall into a food coma, or rush out to start your Black Friday shopping on Thursday, go out and make some memories and have a very, very happy Thanksgiving!
